Just in time for summer camp, Tumble Media is proud to announce the release of Camp Owl Mysteries — our first Yoto Original Series.

Starting with Tumble Science Podcast for Kids, Tumble Media has spent more than a decade producing award-winning audio for kids, building our reputation on science storytelling that makes complex ideas come alive for young listeners.

Yoto is a screen-free audio player designed for kids and beloved by families all over the world. You can find Tumble Science cards in the Yoto store, and at Walmart.com, with more coming this fall.

But now, we’ve partnered to explore into the world of original fiction for middle grade (8 - 12) listeners. Camp Owl Mysteries is our first original production for Yoto Studios, written especially for audio and produced in full by our team. And we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!

About the Series

Every summer for the last 55 years, campers have traveled from near and far to Camp Owl Tree — six weeks of fresh forest air, cold lake swims, and roaring campfires. But this summer, four mostly unsuspecting 12-year-olds named Olivia, Wilder, Ari, and Benny are about to discover that there's a mystery behind every corner.

From missing trophies to haunted cabins, eerie lake legends, and cryptid sightings, this unlikely team of reporters transforms the camp newsletter — The Hoot — from a total snorefest into a hard-hitting source of camp journalism. Along the way, they sharpen their investigative skills, uncover the truth, and become the kind of friends you don't forget.

Warm, funny, and full of adventure, Camp Owl Mysteries blends summer camp nostalgia with classic mystery storytelling. At its heart, it's a series about friendship, belonging, and discovering that sometimes the things we never chose can become the most important parts of who we are.

The Team Behind the Series

Camp Owl Mysteries was created by Tumble Media co-founders Lindsay Patterson and Sara Robberson Lentz, with Patterson serving as script editor and Lentz as producer. The series was written by acclaimed audio writer Tara Altabrando, narrated by Stephanie Cannon, and produced and engineered by Gary Calhoun James. Original music and sound design are by Marshall Escamilla — the composer behind all of Tumble's original music — whose work gives the series its distinctive atmosphere and sonic texture.

Together, this team brought the same level of high-quality production that Tumble listeners have come to expect from our science content to a new genre. We hope you listen and enjoy!
